Where to Eat in New York City Before the Summer Ends

Nathans Famous Coney Island

There are still a few weeks left to take advantage of the summer so there is no better time than now to try something new! From some of the most beautiful places to dine outdoors to some of our favorite dessert shops, here are some ideas on where to eat in New York City before we say goodbye summer.

Shake Shack – Madison Square Park

Shake Shack Madison Square Park

The Shake Shack in Madison Square Park is one of our favorite places for outdoor dining in the city. Madison Square Park is beautiful and Shake Shack’s burgers and milkshakes are always top notch! It’s also our favorite lunch spot for dining with your dog!

Smorgasburg – Williamsburg & Prospect Park, Brooklyn

Another great option if you want to dine outdoors is food festivals. There are a lot of them in New York City and they are great thanks to all the delicious options. One of the biggest food festivals to check out before summer ends is Smorgasburg. Smorgasburg will be in Williamsburg every Saturday and in Prospect Park every Sunday until October. We are always finding new and interesting things to try here.

Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs – 1310 Surf Ave

Coney Island is the epitome of summertime in the city! There’s so much to do like riding the world famous Cyclone, then catching a Brooklyn Cyclones minor league baseball game. Try relaxing on the beach or finding all the other fun stuff the boardwalk has to offer. When hunger strikes, the best place for lunch in Coney Island is Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs.

Summer is also the best time to eat soft shell crabs! They are a super crispy and tasty snack, best eaten fresh out of the fryer. Our go to spot for soft shell crabs is Great NY Noodletown in the heart of Chinatown. Their crabs are super fresh and the batter is just right!

POP Cake Shop – DeKalb Market

We can’t end the summer without some delicious desserts! POP Cake Shop in DeKalb Market has been creating a lot of buzz with their cake push pops. It is such a convenient and fun way to enjoy cake! It looks and tastes amazing.

With so many good ice cream shops in New York City, ice cream is high on our list during the summer. One interesting ice cream shop that has had a lot of buzz in Chinatown is 10Below. They were one of the first Thai rolled ice cream shops in the Big Apple. Your ice cream is made fresh and right in front of you. With a bunch of flavors and a ton of toppings to choose from, you can get some interesting combinations here.
