The 7 Best Restaurants in Nolita, New York City
Looking for recommendations on where to eat in Nolita?
Nolita, short for North of Little Italy is a hidden gem for foodies. We are truly amazed about the diversity of delicious foods that you can find here. From fun, innovative takes on the pad thai to the perfect slice of pizza, here are our picks for the 7 best restaurants in Nolita, New York City.
Parm – 248 Mulberry St & Other Locations
Chicken parm is one of favorite comfort foods and Parm in Nolita is a go to whenever we are craving this dish (which is a lot). It has a cool retro diner feel and the chicken parm which can be served as a sandwich or over pasta is always top notch.
Rubirosa – 235 Mulberry St
New York City has so many good pizzerias, but Rubirosa is easily one of our all-time favorites. We recommend their vodka pie or their tie dye pie (vodka, tomato, pesto, and fresh mozzarella). Be sure to check out their house made pastas too!
Upside Pizza – 51 Spring St & Other Locations
P.C.: yelp, Charvi B.
Another amazing pizzeria and great lunch spot nearby is Upside Pizza. They are best known for their spicy vodka or upside-down Sicilian pizza. They have perfected the three keys to a great pizza, cheese, sauce, and crust and all that adds up to an explosion of flavor with every bite.
Taïm – 45 Spring St & Other Locations
If you are looking for a good healthy, cheap eats spot in Nolita, we highly recommend Taïm for their falafel, impossible kebabs, and cauliflower shawarma. All three are super tasty and can be a great lunch or dinner on the go when served on a pita or bowl.
La Esquina – 114 Kenmare St & Other Locations
P.C.: yelp, Mike K.
If you are in the mood for tacos, you must check out La Esquina. It is a no frills taqueria in Nolita. You can get tacos filled with adobo grilled chicken, crunchy pork belly, grilled shrimp, or sliced steak. There is really no wrong choice here. They are all delicious!
Thai Diner – 186 Mott St
P.C.: yelp, Michael Z.
Uncle Boons was one of favorite Thai restaurants for its fun, innovative takes on classic Thai dishes but it sadly closed during the pandemic. Luckily, chefs Ann Redding and Matt Danzer opened a new restaurant nearby, Thai Diner and it has a lot of Uncle Boon’s whimsical charm here. For breakfast or brunch, we always order the Thai Diner egg sandwich and for lunch or dinner, we usually get the spicy green curry braised duck leg or the pad thai with fried chicken. But honestly everything on the menu is very interesting and very tasty.
Socarrat Paella Bar – 284 Mulberry St & Other Locations
P.C.: Socarrat Paella Bar
Paella is our favorite hearty meal to share with friends and family and Socarrat’s paella is just amazing. We especially love their seafood squid ink paella. If you are looking for a lighter meal to share, this is a great option for tapas style dining too!
