Because of the hustle and bustle of New York City, it sometimes can be a daunting task to plan a vacation or a quick getaway here. However, it may surprise you that there are actually a lot of fun activities, shows and more for children of all ages. Here are seven fun things to do in New York City with kids. You will surely find something that will keep the kids talking for a long time!
Bryant Park
There is a lot to do for kids in Bryant Park. During the summer, there are board games, mini golf, ping pong, juggling classes and even an art cart. Also, let’s not forget the fun ice skating rink open during the winter time. Best of all, these are all free! Also, an added bonus is that the main branch of the New York Public Library is right around the corner which is a must see if you haven’t been there already.
Central Park

Central Park is another park with a lot to do! Sometimes it is fun with kids to just wander around the park and explore all the cool things inside. There is the Belvedere Castle, Central Park Zoo, boat rentals in the Central Park Lake and lots of interesting and historic playgrounds just to name a few. There are also huge boulders which are fun to climb and there are numerous picturesque places for picnics.
Bronx Zoo

The Bronx Zoo is one of the biggest zoos in the world. With lions, tigers and bears (oh my), this is perfect for any curious kid or for kids who love animals!
Coney Island
Coney Island is always bright, vibrant and buzzing with energy especially during the summer. Kids will love Luna Park and all the rides that they offer, the beach, the Coney Island Aquarium (602 Surf Ave) and Nathan’s Famous hot dogs (1310 Surf Ave).
Rockefeller Center
Rockefeller Center is another spot that is fun for the whole family. Here you will find one of the most famous ice skating rinks in the world, fun shops like the Nintendo (10 Rockefeller Plaza) and Lego Store (620 Fifth Ave) and the Top of the Rock observation deck with offers breathtaking views of New York City.
