On both of our tours, we walk no more than ½ a mile, and at a moderate pace. During the three hours, there are many standing breaks, so we aren’t always walking. There are a few opportunities to sit throughout the tour. There is slightly more seating on the Taste of Mulberry Street tour.
On our Chinatown and Little Italy Food Fest tour our tastings include a classic Chinese pastry paired with tea, an authentic dumpling, a hearty seated tasting, fresh mozzarella paired with prosciutto, imported Italian cheeses and olives, a tasty Italian surprise and end with a well-known Sicilian pastry, a cannoli.
On our Taste of Mulberry Street tour, we taste freshly made Spanish churros, French cheeses, popular vodka sauce pizza, scrumptious fresh pasta (option to pair with wine), Vietnamese spring rolls, and a popular Chinatown dessert.
Food-tasting locations can change without notice.
Ahoy New York Tours & Tasting does its best to accommodate any dietary restrictions and allergies. Please alert us upon booking your tour. If you prefer you may also reach us at 518-332-4386.
The tours are held in rain, snow or shine. We ask that you make sure to check the weather on the day of your tour and dress appropriately (bring an umbrella if necessary). On days of inclement weather, we will do our best to use indoor space as much as possible.
While we offer reduced tickets for children, our tours are mainly for a mature audience in that we taste ethnic cuisine and dive deeply into history and culture. Sometimes we find that children of a young age may become easily disengaged. Although we are a family-friendly tour company, please take care in knowing if your child will enjoy the experience prior to booking. We find that children 8 years old and older enjoy our Chinatown and Little Italy Food Fest tour. In regards to our Taste of Mulberry Street tour we suggest ages 13 and up. If you have questions about bringing young children, please feel free to contact us.
