Fun Family Friendly Dining in New York City

Looking for new lunch and dinner ideas for a family outing? We have a bunch of recommendations. From classic Italian to Southern barbeque, here are our favorite fun family friendly dining options in New York City.

Parm – 248 Mulberry St & Other Locations
Parm is a fun throwback that has the best parmigiana sandwiches in the city. We especially love their chicken parmigiana and it can be served on a roll, on a hero, over pasta or over a salad. Also be sure to order a slice of ice cream cake! It is amazing. Their original location is small so if you have a large group maybe check out their newest location at Brookfield Place.

Fuku – 163 1st Ave
Momofuku has expanded their foodie empire in New York City with Fuku. Fuku specializes in fried chicken sandwiches and they are delicious! Like the other Momofuku locations, it is very popular so there can be a bit of a line and a bit of wait so plan ahead. Trust us, it is worth it!

Hill Country Barbecue – 30 W 26th St
If yummy ribs, sausages, brisket and more piled high sounds like a good time then Hill Country Barbecue is a sure bet. They have a comfortable cafeteria style dining room and there is usually something going on like live country music.

Ninja New York – 25 Hudson St
Nothing beats the Japanese and ninja themed restaurant, Ninja New York when it comes to fun family friendly dining and unique dining experiences. We don’t want to spoil the fun, but here is a hint, there are sure to be some fun performances during your dinner which means this will surely be a hit for the whole family.

King’s Kitchen – 92 E Broadway
Chinese family style dining is a must if you haven’t already explored this avenue. We recommend King’s Kitchen, which just opened to a lot of buzz. They have all the classic Cantonese dishes like clay pot rice casseroles, soy sauce chicken and roast pork.

Blue Ribbon Fried Chicken – 28 E 1st St
Looking for a good fried chicken spot? Blue Ribbon’s fried chicken packs a lot of flavor with every bite and they have a bunch of sauces like wildflower honey and their signature bbq sauce to go with the chicken and some fries. The bird family dinner is perfect for a tasty takeout dinner.

IHOP – 235-237 E 14th St
IHOP’s pancakes are legendary and they are great at any time of the day. With great service and great food, what more can you ask for?

Shake Shack – Madison Square Park & Other Locations
Shake Shack is every kid’s dream come true! Mmmm… there are juicy burgers, addictive crinkle cut fries, scrumptious milkshakes and more!

Bark Hot Dogs – 155 Bleecker St & 474 Bergen St, Brooklyn
If you are looking for a quick bite to eat, we love Bark Hot Dogs. With choices like bacon cheddar, chili cheese, chicken chorizo and cheddar bratwurst, there is sure to be something for everyone.

IchiUmi – 6 E 32nd St
Finally buffets are good options for family friendly dining. Our favorite buffet in New York City is the Japanese buffet IchiUmi. Whether you are looking for sushi, chicken teriyaki or anything in between, IchiUmi has a ton of options every night.
