Los Tacos No. 1 – 75 9th Ave & Other Locations

Los Tacos No. 1 is widely considered one of the best tacos shops in New York City and we 100% agree! All their tacos including their carne asada and pollo asado tacos are less than $4 each. Their most popular location is in Chelsea Market and it usually has a long line so we recommend checking out their other locations in Tribeca, Times Square and Grand Central.
Los Mariscos – 409 W 15th St

The people behind Los Tacos No. 1 also have Los Mariscos. If you love seafood, Los Mariscos is the go to place for seafood tacos! Both their fish and shrimp tacos are just bursting with flavor and their seafood is always super fresh. Los Mariscos is also in Chelsea Market.
Takumi Taco – 75 9th Ave & Other Locations

Chelsea Market is a hub of delicious restaurants and shops and another amazing taco spot here is Takumi Taco. They specialize in Japanese inspired tacos with tempting choices like Japanese curry beef, chipotle shrimp, tofu and Japanese lentil. Most of their tacos are about $5.
Otto’s Tacos – 141 Second Ave & Other Locations

If you are looking for a quick snack or a light lunch, we highly recommend Otto’s Tacos. Plus now they have plant-based Beyond chorizo tacos. Yum!
Taco Recipes – 23 Essex St

Taco Recipes is a no frills Mexican fusion takeout spot just outside of Chinatown. It is one of the best kept secret cheap eats spots in New York City and we go here almost every week. We just love their shrimp tacos which have a fusion of Mexican and Chinese flavors.
Les Crêpes & Taqueria – 25 Essex St A

Not too far from Taco Recipes there is also Les Crêpes & Taqueria. It is another no frills but yummy taco spot. Their tacos are just out of this world and best of all, cheap! They have a bunch of different meats to choose from for their tacos including carnitas, steak, chicken, chorizo, lamb and fish.
Puebla Mexican Food – 88 Essex St #50

Finally we are huge fans of the new Essex Market and the Market Line. One of our favorite shops there offers authentic Mexican cuisine including top notch tacos. Also if you are there early in the morning, they have a good selection of breakfast tacos too!
