Luke's Lobster Shrimp Crab and Lobster Roll

The summer is in full swing and you may be looking for ways to cool off or to just have fun with friends and family. So with that in mind, here are some fun foodie things to do in New York City this summer. What fun things do you have planned?

Get a Lobster Roll

Luke's Lobster Roll

One of our musts every summer is getting a delicious, succulent lobster roll! Two of our favorite spots for yummy lobster rolls are now open, Ed’s Lobster (222 Lafayette St) and Luke’s Lobster (124 University Pl) near Union Square. Plus, Luke’s Lobster is now offering kits to make these rolls at home! This sounds like a ton of fun.

Take Advantage of All the Al Fresco Dining Options

There are more options for outdoor dining in NYC than ever before. So whether you are craving Italian, Chinese or anything in between, there is something for everyone. Be sure to check out our recommendations for restaurants in Chinatown with outdoor seating for some ideas. Similarly, another fun idea is to organize a picnic at one of the many amazing parks in New York City.

Visit the New DeKalb Open-Air Market

Most outdoor food markets in New York City are still closed but the DeKalb Market Hall is now the DeKalb Open-Air Market. It is an outdoor food market open Monday through Friday, 11 AM- 8 PM on Albee Square West. It features a lot of our favorite food shops like A Taste of Katz’s, Kotti Doner and Pierogi Boys.

Try Some New Ice Cream Spots

You may be looking for fun foodie way to cool down and we can’t think of a better way to do that than getting some ice cream! There are so many great ice cream shops in New York City. A few that we highly recommend include the Chinatown Ice Cream Factory (65 Bayard St), Milk & Cream Cereal Bar (159 Mott St), Taiyaki NYC (119 Baxter St), Ice & Vice (221 E Broadway) and Van Leeuwen Ice Cream (172 Ludlow St & Other Location).
