Top 10 New York City Food Trucks

Happy August!

We are very excited to share the news about the Parked 2012 Food Truck Festival at South Street Seaport this coming Saturday, August 4th. Parked 2012 is a great opportunity to try a wide variety of foods and to sample some of the best food trucks that New York City has to offer. However, you can celebrate the quality and diversity of food trucks in New York City all year round and here is a list of our Top Ten New York City Food Trucks to try. The best way to track the food trucks is to follow their Twitter accounts.

Wafels & Dinges – @waffletruck
Looking for a quick, light lunch? You have to try Wafels & Dinges’ De Bacon + Syrup Wafel for the perfect mix of savory and sweet or the De Throwdown Wafel with their spekuloos spread (tastes like gingerbread cookies) and whipped cream, this is the wafel that beat Bobby Flay!

Comme Ci Comme Ca – @Chefsamirtruck
Comme Ci Comme Ca, which means Like This, Like That in French is also known as Chef Samir’s Food Truck and it serves easily one of the best couscous in NYC. It is light and full of flavor and great with their lemon chicken.

Korilla BBQ – @KorillaBBQ
Korilla BBQ is probably best known for their stint on the Food Network’s “The Great Food Truck Race”. They may not have won the race but they have definitely won the hearts or should we say stomachs of New Yorkers. We recommend their Korean twist to tacos with either beef, pork, chicken or tofu.

Red Hook Lobster Pound – @lobstertruckny
Red Hook Lobster Pound’s lobster rolls are stuffed with super fresh meaty lobster chunks, bursting with flavor with every bite. It is a truly great way to reward yourself after a long day.

Frites ‘n’ Meats – @fritesnmeats
It is sometimes hard to find a good burger in New York City but Frites ‘n’ Meats’s burgers are a sure bet. Their burgers start with only the best ingredients, they are cooked medium rare and are sooooo juicy and flavorful.

Marky Ramone’s Cruisin’ Kitchen – @Cruisin_Kitchen
There is nothing more New York than the Ramones and our attention was definitely peaked when we heard that Marky Ramone had enter the food truck business. They offer several delicious takes on the classic meatball, for example their NY Pastrami Balls Stuffed with Jarlsberg Cheese, and it is absolutely worth trying them all.

Schnitzel & Things – @schnitznthings
You can’t go wrong with a classic pork schnitzel always cooked to perfection from Schnitzel & Things. It has become somewhat of a staple for us at lunchtime.

The Treats Truck – @TheTreatsTruck
It is always fun to run into The Treats Truck. Their marshmallow rice crispy treats are simply amazing and their brownies are pretty much as good as it gets.

Kelvin Natural Slush Co – @KELVINSLUSH
The slushies especially the Arnold Palmer from Kelvin Natural Slush Co are very refreshing and they are exactly what you need on a hot day.

Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream – @VLAIC
There are a ton of ice cream trucks in NYC but for dessert, Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream can’t be beat. They offer some unique flavors that you can’t find anywhere else. Sure you can always stick with a scoop of their strawberry ice cream but if you are a bit more daring, try their Earl Grey ice cream.
