The Best Chain Restaurants in New York City

Some of our go to places for a good, quick meal are actually chain restaurants. From Chipotle to Xi’an Famous Foods, here is Ahoy New York’s list of the best chain restaurants in New York City.

Xi’an Famous Foods – 67 Bayard St & Other Locations
Xi’an Famous Foods started as a small hole in the wall place located by the Manhattan Bridge. Xi’an has quickly built a loyal following for their pulled noodles and spicy cumin lamb burgers which in turn has led them to quickly expand throughout the city. Simply put, we just love their noodles and burgers. They are full of flavor and they have a nice little spice to them.

Five Guys – 56 W 14th St & Other Locations
Whether you want mushrooms, bacon, mayo or the classic lettuce & tomatoes at Five Guys, you can customize your burger in countless ways. Their burgers are super juicy and also don’t forget about their unlimited peanuts! They oddly pair perfectly with their burgers and fries. Shake Shack (Southeast corner of Madison Square Park & Other Locations) is another excellent burger chain.

Potbelly Sandwich Shop – 19 W 45th St & Other Locations
Between Subway, Blimpies, Quiznos, etc., there are a lot of sandwich chains in New York City but Potbelly Sandwich Shop especially stands out with their yummy creations. Their “A Wreck” (salami, roast beef, turkey, ham & Swiss cheese) toasted sub is easily our favorite and but all their subs are really quite good in their own special way.

IHOP – 235-237 E 14th Street & Other Locations
When you think of IHOP (International House of Pancakes), the first word that comes to mind is probably breakfast. Their pancakes, French toast, omelets, etc. are all top notch and beloved by many at all hours of the day.

Red Lobster – 5 Times Square & Other Locations
Red Lobster has a menu full of seafood favorites like shrimp scampi and lobster tails but their cheddar bay biscuits are an absolute must. They are fluffy, cheesy and scrumptious!

Chipotle – 101 Fulton St & Other Locations
Chipotle started the trend of serving quality food with a speedy turn around. It is a very, very popular lunch spot so lines can be extremely long especially during peak lunch hours but the lines usually do move quickly. One of our go to lunches is a burrito bowl with brown rice, no beans, chicken, tomatoes, corn, sour cream, cheese and lettuce. It is absolutely delicious and there seems to be a Chipotle in most New York.
