So here are our cheap eats picks for the best noodles in Chinatown, New York City for under $10. Be sure to check out our other cheap eats blog posts too: the best burgers, sandwiches, pastas, desserts and more.
Lan Zhou Handmade Noodle and Dumpling – 40 Bowery
There are a number of very good pulled noodle spots in Chinatown and almost all of them have noodles for under $10 but our favorite is still Lan Zhou Handmade Noodle and Dumpling. Their noodles are nice and chewy and their broth is full of flavor. Also, if you are not in the mood for soup noodles, they can make their noodles stir fried as well.
Shanghai Cuisine – 89 Bayard St
Shanghai Cuisine has a great location by Columbus Park and they have a beautiful dining room. We highly recommend their Shanghai lo mein and if you split it, you can also pair it with some of their signature Shanghai soup dumplings!
Thai Son – 89 Baxter St
Pho is a popular Vietnamese dish made with rice noodles, broth and delicious meats! A pho absolutely loaded with meats and toppings from Thai Son is about $7 and it is one of the best deals in Chinatown. Be sure to add a little of lime to give the broth a little tartness.
Ajisen Ramen – 14 Mott St
When it comes to ramen, Ajisen Ramen is our go to place in not just Chinatown but in all of Lower Manhattan. All of their ramens are excellent but we absolutely love their cold ramen aka hiyashi chuka which has no broth. It is definitely something a little different and perfect for when it is hot outside.
Matsunichi – 14-18 Elizabeth St #32-33
P.C.: yelp, Stephanie E.
Matsunichi is a Japanese restaurant that is a bit hard to find (it is located in the middle of an alley between Bowery and Elizabeth Street) but it is one of favorite lunch spots. Their stir fried udon with seafood is our favorites here and they also have soba noodles, soup noodles, ramen and more.
Kam Man Hibachi – 200 Canal St
P.C.: yelp, A C.
Kam Man Hibachi is the lunch counter inside the New Kam Man supermarket on Canal Street and it is another one of our favorite cheap eats lunch spots. They have a bunch of noodles that you can choose from including lo meins, stir fried udons and our favorite, the Taiwanese beef noodle soup. Best of all, all these noodles are less than $10 and you can get your lunch here quick.
Asian Spicy Curry – 46 Mulberry St
P.C.: yelp, Marina C.
Finally if you looking for something with a little kick, Asian Spicy Curry is pop up restaurant that shares the same space as Mama Eatery. Their scrumptious curry noodle soup is $9.75 and you can get it with lo mein, ho fun or mei fun.
