Cheeky Sandwiches – 35 Orchard St

Cheeky Breakfast Sandwich

P.C.: yelp, Tammy T.

Cheeky Sandwiches is a popular sandwich shop on the Lower East Side and their fried chicken sandwiches are amazing but their yummy breakfast sandwiches are a bit more under the radar. Fluffy eggs, crispy bacon and cheese are all served on a warm buttermilk biscuit. It is just hits the spot and it is a great deal!

Shake Shack – Madison Sq Park & Other Locations

Another surprising place to find the classic bacon, egg and cheese sandwich are select Shake Shacks across New York City. Shake Shack served their bacon, egg and cheese on a toasted potato bun. They also have a scrumptious sausage patty, egg and cheese sandwich and they are both great on the go!

Landmark Diner – 158 Grand St

Landmark Diner Breakfast Platter

P.C.: yelp, Chun M.

It is getting harder and harder to find an old school diner where you can get a huge breakfast platter for cheap. Landmark Diner in SoHo is one of the few remaining and you can get a two eggs with home fries, pancakes or the french toast platter for about $5.

Kossar’s Bagels & Bialys – 367 Grand St

Kossar's Bagels

P.C.: Kossar’s

New York City is renowned for its top-notch bagels and we love to start the day with a toasted bagel with some cream cheese. You can find good bagels in delis and bakeries all over New York City but our favorite spot for bagels is still Kossar’s Bagels & Bialys.

Nice One Bakery – 47 Bayard St

Nice One Bakery

A good cheap breakfast you can get on the go in Chinatown is mantou, a Chinese steamed bun. It is soft and fluffy and the best place for mantou is Nice One Bakery. It costs just over a dollar! Similarly, nearby you can also find roast pork buns at Mei Li Wah (64 Bayard St).

Kopitiam – 151 East Broadway

Kopitiam Kaya Toast

P.C.: yelp, Shuang C.

Finally if you are looking for something a little different for breakfast, you definitely want to check out Kopitiam. It is a Malaysian cafe that recently reopened in a beautiful new location. We recommend both the kaya butter toast and Malaysian style half boiled eggs.
