The Best Restaurants in New York City for Large Groups

New York City is a huge city and there are hundreds if not thousands of restaurants but it can still be tough to find a restaurant that can comfortably seat a group of eight or more people. So whether you are in the mood for Italian or Japanese, here are our picks for the best restaurants in New York City for large groups.

Jing Fong Restaurant – 20 Elizabeth St
In our opinion, dim sum is best in the company of a lot of friends and family. One of the larger dim sum restaurants in Chinatown is probably Jing Fong Restaurant. The dining room is huge and they can easily seat a group of eight or more. They have all the dim sum staples like shrimp dumplings and shui mei and also more unusual fare like chicken feet.

Yakiniku West – 218 E 9th St
Yakiniku West is a Japanese restaurant where you can grill your dinner right on your table. You can grill salmon, beef, chicken and a whole bunch more tempting options. It is truly a lot of fun! They have private rooms upstairs for larger groups.

Pio Pio – 604 10th Ave & Other Locations
Pio Pio is a Peruvian restaurant that also has a large comfortable dining room. Their specialty is chicken and it is an absolute must. It is juicy, tender and full of flavor!

Ichi Umi – 6 E 32nd St
Buffets by design are great for large groups. The best buffet in New York City is Ichi Umi, a gourmet Japanese buffet. You can find everything from chicken teriyaki to salmon rolls so there is sure to be something for everyone.

Carmine’s – 200 West 44th Street & 2450 Broadway
Carmine’s Italian family style dinners are also absolutely perfect for large groups. Their pastas and seafood dishes are top notch. We also just love their chicken marsala. The portion sizes are huge so there is more than enough to go around and there is nothing better than sharing good food with friends and family!

Buca di Beppo – 1540 Broadway
To be honest Carmine’s can be tough to get into especially during the weekends. Nearby there is also Bucca di Beppo which also specializes in Italian family style dining. It is located right in the heart of Times Square so it is a great place for dinner right before or after a Broadway play. We recommend their meatballs, shrimp Florentine and baked rigatoni.
